In brief
| What you connect | Purpose | When it's needed |
|---|---|---|
| Bot | publishes posts to your channel | always, if you publish to Telegram |
| Account (QR login) | reads source channels | only for rewriter projects with sources in Telegram |
One does not replace the other and one does not interfere with the other. A common mistake is to connect an account and wait for publications: the account does not publish.
Bot for publishing
- Create a bot with @BotFather in Telegram and copy the token.
- Paste the token in Accounts → Telegram, bot token field.
- Add the bot to your channel as an administrator with posting rights.
The token looks like this: 1234567890:ABCdefGHIjklMNOpqrsTUVwxyz. It is stored separately from the account, so you can publish without connecting a personal account at all.
Account for reading sources
Source channels are read not by the bot, but by a regular Telegram account: a bot cannot subscribe to someone else's channel and receive messages from it. Therefore, an account is needed in exactly one case — when the project takes material from Telegram channels.
Important: sources are read by your Telegram account regardless of where you publish. If a rewriter project publishes to VK, but takes material from Telegram channels, the account is still needed.
Connection steps:
- First, add and check the proxy — without an active proxy, the QR code will not be generated.
- If the account has a cloud password enabled (two-step verification), enter it in the field before generating the code.
- Click «Generate QR» and scan the code in mobile Telegram: Settings → Devices → Link Desktop Device.
The code lives for about a minute and updates on the screen automatically; the platform waits for connection for up to five minutes. One account per profile: when connecting a new one via QR, the previous account and its session are deleted.
What can go wrong
- «QR code expired» / «QR code not found» — generate a new one and scan again.
- «Cloud password enabled on account» — fill in the cloud password field and retry login.
- «Cloud password is incorrect» — check your two-step verification password; this is not the SMS code.
- «No active proxy» — go back to the Proxy section, add a proxy, and bring it to «active» status.
- «Session expired» — delete the account and reconnect via QR.
Why posts from sources are not coming in
Reading sources works when two conditions are met simultaneously: the Telegram account is active and the proxy is active. If either is disabled, material collection stops — meanwhile, already prepared posts will continue to be published on schedule.
Two more reasons unrelated to connection:
- the source's daily post limit set in the source settings has been reached;
- source filters or stop words were triggered, and the post did not pass selection.
The channel list is loaded by the load sources button in the project: the platform takes your account's dialogs, so you first need to add the channel to the account, and then select it in the project.
